About Bacteriostatic Water

Bacteriostatic water is sterile, purified water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth, so a vial can be accessed multiple times.

It is the standard laboratory diluent for reconstituting lyophilized (freeze-dried) research peptides.
